Born in Takarazuka City, Hyogo prefecture in 10 December 1946, study in the composition department of Tokyo University of the Arts .
Received the Grand Prix at the 10th Yamaha Electone International Convention in 1973. Since then, as a keyboard artist and composer, he has been energetically active in composing movie musicals, performing in TV music production and producing events, and instructing younger generations, focusing on performance activities all over Japan. At the concert, a duo with Shakuhachi, violin, and erhu aims to fuse traditional Asian and Japanese music , creating a unique world with rich expressiveness and sharp performances. On April 2000, he became free from YAMAHA and started activities based on the MASA Music Plan. Currently as a Professor at Nagoya Music University, Special Lecturer at Utsunomiya Junior College.
In 2006, he released his CD Pianist MASA on Duo with jazz pianist Masahiro Sayama, and made his debut as a keyboard harmonica (hereinafter referred to as Kenhamo) player in earnest. He appears on television and radio and attracts attention as an interesting professor who plays Kenhamo. His pianica history is 45 years. Especially in the last 10 years, he has been studying hard. He has released new playing styles such as two-handed playing using straps, circular breathing, and mogumogu playing that expresses using subtle changes in the mouth as if speaking, and has published many collections of keyboard harmonica. He holds Kenhamo courses nationwide and continues to lead the world of Kenhamo. While performing at concerts and live houses nationwide, he holds lessons in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, and strives to teach younger generations.
