Turner’s first group was the punk band
Sick Things, with whom he played from 1979 until 1988. From 1980 to 1982 he also had a band called
Wank, and in 1982 another group called
Spew Forth. From 1982 to 1987 Mick was in the band
Fungus Brains. From 1983 to 1984 he was the guitarist in the
Moodists, and in 1985 Mick co-founded
Venom P. Stinger — with whom he played until 1996. In 1992 he co-founded the
Dirty Three with Venom P. Stinger drummer
Jim White. In 1996 Turner founded the record label Anchor & Hope. Mick’s also a member of
Boxhead Ensemble,
Tren Brothers and
Bonnevill.
