Originally from San Diego, CA, The Origin was created around 1985 by lead vocalist Michael Andrews and Gary Jules. Before their first album was released, Jules left the band. After releasing two albums on Virgin (neither album achieved much financial success but garnered a strong college following), the band broke up in 1992.
