American band formed by Lukas Nelson in Los Angeles in 2008. Also known as POTR. Outside of the USA, Promise of the Real came into view as the backing band for Neil Young with whom they collaborated between 2014 and 2019, releasing 2 studio albums, a soundtrack and 2 live albums.
