Xerxes The Dark (XTD) is the dark ambient project of award-winning Iranian composer and electronic musician Mohammadreza Govahi (aka Morego). Founded in 2005, XTD creates immersive soundscapes that explore themes of mysticism, cosmic horror, and metaphysical darkness, blending dark ambient, drone, and industrial elements. A pioneer in Iran’s experimental music scene, Mohamadreza is also the creative mind behind Nyctalllz (noise/experimental) and Morego (chillout/downtempo/IDM).

He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Pedagogy and is widely recognized for his international collaborations, working with numerous foreign record labels and artists. His work has received extensive reviews from global webzines and music magazines. Recently, he earned international acclaim by winning the Web3 Music Awards and securing 1st Place at the Best Song Festival, accompanied by a prestigious university prize.
