American popular singer & actress.
Born April 4, 1896 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana, USA.
Died April 23, 1944 (aged 48) in New York City, New York, USA.
Harris was a vaudeville and revue headliner, famed for her renditions of jazz songs and was most successful in the 1920s. She was the first widely known white singer to sing jazz and blues songs.
Her first husband was songwriter/pianist Phil Goldberg (3).
