Psych-folk / indie rock band who were originally based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. They then relocated to Adelaide, South Australia — until Baterz' death in July 2002. The Bedridden performed and recorded, somewhat sporadically, between 1989 and 2002. The band reunited for a series of concerts in 2005 to promote the live album 'The Anthem Of The Crown & Anchor' (recorded in 1998). In 2013, a 31-song album of previously unreleased tracks was released by Army Of Nerds. Titled 'Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla', it featured songs from almost every era of the band's career (1989 to 2005).

Songwriting and lead-vocal duties were shared amongst the members of the band, creating a somewhat eclectic style and an evolving sound due to the departure of key members.
The original members were Baterz (Barnaby Charles Ward): guitar, David M. Lewis: guitar, Spaemen (Steven McKenzie): bass guitar, Kirsty Stegwazi: guitar and Lillybub (William Heuzenroeder): cello.
