Twilighting was formed in 1998 in Imatra, Finland, by Tommi Sartanen (guitar, vocals), Ville Wallenius (guitar), Jussi Kainulainen (bass), and Juha Leskinen (drums).

The band recorded their first demo Change of the Scepter in February 1999, the second one “Affection Seeker” in 2000. The next year saw the band bring in a new singer, Heikki Pöyhiä, recording their third and final demo “Return to Innocence”.

In November 2001 they signed to Spinefarm Records and recorded their début album “Delirium Veil” the following September at Astia Studios, engineered and produced by Anssi Kippo, and mixed by Timo Tolkki at Finnvox Studios, released in 2003. Plague-House Puppet Show was their second release in 2004, followed by the Bedlam EP in 2006, and their final album Swinelords in 2007.

The group officially disbanded in July of 2009.
