The New York Saxophone Madness

Probably a one-off group of NY jazz heavyweights invited to Kishiwada, Japan, in 1985, to perform in the 1st anniversary of the city concert hall. The title song of the live album recorded at the performance, “Danjiri-Prelude” is composed by Yoshihide Mori, the local amateur musician, to reflect the spirit of Danjiri Matsuri, the traditional cart-pulling festival. The Kishiwada Danjiri is the most famous such an event in Japan.
