Jazz and blues singer, born November 13, 1913 in New Orleans, died May 7, 1998 (cancer). Wife of guitarist Danny Barker, with whom she often recorded.
She recorded for Decca 1938-1939, Apollo 1946, and Capitol 1948-1949. Her last recordings was made live at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 1989, released on the Orleans label.
