German songwriter and producer, born March 27, 1943 in Mannheim, Germany.
He started his musical career as keyboarder of Joy Fleming's band Joy Unlimited in the 1960's. In 1973, Hans Lingenfelder joined the band and after a couple of time, Heck and his bandmate Gerd Köthe started to produce Lingenfelder's solo career. Under the alias Ricky King, the producer duo Roland Heck & Gerd Köthe played an important part in the long-term success of Lingenfelder.
