German NDW band from Berlin
The band name refers to
Stanisław Lem's book Der Futurologische Kongress (1971, german translation 1974)
They formed from the core of the trio Trio Heyder-Wastel-Tröndle in 1981 and self-published their debut
Posthum. After winning a band contest, their winning title
Heimatlied was pressed as price of the competition. After getting broadcasted in TV by [l110660], the band was signed by Teldec and released via [l40057]. During 1982 the band grew up to 13 musicians. They recorded and released 2 albums and a couple of singles till 1984, their third LP stayed unreleased due to disputes in the band. The band disbanded 1984 till 1992 and reunited as Futurologen to release a new LP
Feuer.
