Swedish music writer, music administrator and textbook teacher, born 5 February 1925 in Bredaryd, Jönköping, died 13 August 2022 in Hägersten, Stockholm.

He graduated with a licentiate degree in philosophy from Lund University in 1958 and became a lecturer in Romance languages. He was chairman of Ars Nova in Malmö from 1964 to 1971 and editor-in-chief of Sohlman's music lexicon (second edition 1972–1978) and permanent secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music from 1973 to 1990.
