American guitarist, producer, audio engineer and expert witness in forensic audio and video.
During the sixties he played in backing bands for artists such as the
The Shangri-Las. He started working as a staff producer and engineer for Springboard International Records, Inc. (1973-1978) and was director of Springboard Studios. He then became chief engineer at the Rodgers And Hammerstein Archives Of Recorded Sound (1979-1989). He has also worked as a forensic audio expert. He was president of Owl Investigations, Inc. (1981-2010), since 2010 he is a consultant for Owen Forensic Services, LLC.
He has published several books and articles on musicianship, jazz and blues, audio engineering and restoration and forensic audio. He served as Chairman of the Audio Engineering Society's Standards Group on Forensic Audio
