Has been recording electronic music since 1982. Previous to that he was a drummer in local punk and new wave bands Silent Command and Aspros from Ipswich, UK.
In 1981/82 he and Stephen Jarvis started
Nagamatzu moving into experimental post punk industrial noise soundscapes, aided by loops and drum machines.
The group lasted until 1991 but in 1988 he already had published his first solo cassette as Lagowski.
While working with
Brian Lustmord on the 'Heresy' album and the Terror Against Terror and Isolrubin BK releases, his next solo releases were published - among them the Chromium Industries 12 series showing him developing a unique style of Industrial Techno.
In 1992 he established his first side-project
Legion for dark ambient soundscapes which was terminated in 2008. 1992 saw the first
S.E.T.I. release - a project largely exploring experimental ambience with space, conspiracy and alien-based themes. This project was terminated in 2024, although future live performances have not been ruled out.
