Originally billed as Force Mass Motion vs. Dylan Rhymes the duo of Michael Wells and Marvin Beaver was renamed to Silencer when Heat Recordings' sublabel Critical Mass offered the two an album deal in 2002 following their huge start on UK breaks label Acetate Limited. The pair's name was changed to Silencer to give them as an artist more of a combined identity rather than a one off project by two already well-established artists (Dylan Rhymes and Force Mass Motion)
