American jazz trumpeter, played (among others) with the orchestras of: Red Norvo (and Mildred Bailey), Glenn Miller and Charlie Spivak.
He played with a number of big bands before entering the Air Force in 1942. After leaving the service in 1948, he started a job for the California wines before he eventually became chairman of Beaulieu Vineyard.
