Canadian-born American Country performer, A&R executive and producer.
He worked for [l96762] before being hired at [l492888],
first as sales manager and later as A&R director.
In 1961 he moved to Nashville to join Columbia's production staff,
where he worked under the supervision
Don Law.
After leaving Columbia in 1973, Jones headed to [l654]' Country division.
He had a similar role also at [l75604] (1980-1983)
and [l413731] (1983-1985).
Jones was chairman of The Board for the Country Music Foundation for 12 years
