After graduating from the Recording Institute of America he went to work for Herb Abramson, who mentored him at A-1 Sound Studios. After three years there he opened Dreamland Studios in 1978. In 1983-'84 he did a brief stint at Opal Studios where he mainly cut jingles. He then worked at Unique Recording and operated a studio for Bill and Rita Tesar, before founding The Magic Shop in 1989. He is the winner of four Grammy Awards.
