Bottom and Company were signed by producers and songwriters Terry Woodford and Clayton Ivey, who ran a southern A&R office in Muscle Shoals, they were allowed to sign three artists per year to Motown and if they didn't like them they would lease them to another record company and give Motown a 2% override. Bottom and Company were one of the acts they did want but as so often happened back in the 70's, they didn't get behind them, they were very much of that period when Motown were dabbling in psychedelia and dressed accordingly. They released one album in 1976,
