The first incarnations of Yellow Note were all on the drum'n'bass side of things, quite a departure from David Barratt's creation of commercials for Kraft, McDonalds, Hallmark. Fitting well on Jungle Sky, Yellow Note released a couple CDs and some vinyl, then disappeared for a few years.
In this new century, Barratt turned to electro, taking Yellow Note down a different line. After producing Ministry of Sound's compilation Tech-Pop in 2002 (featuring the Yellow Note reworking of an old Pukka track), Yellow Note came out with a new album, somewhat in the tech-pop style.
