UK reggae singer, composer, television actor and playwright, best known for his lovers rock recordings. Not to be confused with
Honey Boy Martin.
Born in Jamaica in 1955 and moved to the UK in the late 1960s. He worked as a backing singer with producer
Laurel Aitken and as a salesman for
Junior Lincoln before recording Jamaica for Trojan Records and
Homeward Bound for [l55249] in 1971.
He launched the labels [l193345], [l188253] (with
Ken Bailey) and Akin in 1975; [l1086249] in 1976; and [l299961] and [l59830] with
Norris Shears in 1978.
