Musician, songwriter, historian, Tom Hook grew up in Clay County, Missouri. Beginning the piano at age three, he studied classically throughout his boyhood, eventually attending the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He would contribute to many local Kansas City area bands before moving to New Orleans where he now performs.
