French classical violist.
Born in Paris in 1984, she began playing the viola at the Conservatoire du XXe in Paris, with J.B. Brunier, then she continued her studies at the CNR in Paris and at the ENM in Gennevilliers with B. Pasquier and P.H. Xuereb. In 2004, she joined the CNSMD in Lyon in the viola class of T. Adamopoulos and obtained the DNESM with very good distinction in June 2008.
After having followed a year of improvement class at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck in the class of Miguel da Silva, she obtained a Master's degree in soloist at Geneva Conservatory in the class of Nobuko Imai and Miguel da Silva.
Hélène Desaint gives numerous concerts in France and abroad, as a soloist, in chamber music training or even in orchestra in different
festivals ((Music at the Emperi, Musica in Strasbourg, etc.) She thus has the opportunity to play with E. Bertrand, M.Piketty, Y. Markovitch, Gil Sharon, Miguel da Silva... She does part of the Finzi quartet in London and founded the Zerlina ensemble in 2011.
She is also committed to defending the contemporary repertoire and has performed in several festivals as a soloist or chamber music in works
by H.Lachenmann, G.Aperghis, B. Mantovani, S.Reich, H. Fourès. Lately she has created as part of the Présence Festival, the Three stanzas for Patrice Lumumba by B. Cavanna for solo viola and ensemble, with the Ensemble 2 e 2 m. She received the support from Mécénat Société Générale in 2009 and ADAMI in 2010. It is member of the ensemble Des Equilibres since December 2011.
