After Hans Vandenburg ended Gruppo Sportivo he announced that he would form a new band with musicians to be recruited in New York. In the end The Buddy Odor Stop featured a mix of members of Gruppo Sportivo and new recruits, but no New Yorkers. The album [m=140383] and the eponymous single flopped mercilessly, and Hans Vandenburg reformed Gruppo Sportivo in 1980.
