3Teeth (often stylized as 3TEETH or 3T3ETH) is an American industrial metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2013, the band currently consists of Alexis Mincolla (vocals), Chase Brawner (guitars), Xavier Swafford (keys & synth), Andrew Means (modular synth & bass), and Nick Rossi (drums).
Initially created as a passion project by Mincolla & Swafford, 3Teeth mixed music with visual arts and promotion. They soon met with Andrew Means who had a creative background in music videos and production. After some of their music started to gain traction online the three sought out Chase Brawner - a childhood friend of Means - to perform guitar, thus creating the original line-up of the band.
The group took the name 3Teeth from the concepts of Odontomancy, which Mincolla described as an ancient form of divination where the seer would read prophecies in the teeth like rune stones. as well as the word trident, which comes from Latin for three teeth. Their self-titled debut, released in 2014, reached number 8 in the iTunes Electronic Music Chart and featured all the songs they had previously been slowly producing & uploading to social media that past year. A remix album soon followed, featuring reworks by the likes of Mr. Skeleton, Randolph & Mortimer, Freakangel & Caustic.
Their sophomore release, '
In February 2018, the band released the first of two collaboration tracks, Light's Out, with hip-hop/punk artists Ho99o9. A second track, Time's Up, was released in March 2018, and both tracks were later released on a limited edition 7 vinyl following a co-headlining tour titled Lights Out North America.
In April of that year 3Teeth would sign to Century Media with Justin Hanson - who had been brought on as a replacement drummer in late 2017 - being made a full time member.
The band's 3rd album 'Metawar' was recorded and released in 2018 and featured the singles 'American Landfill', 'EXXXIT', 'Affluenza' and 'President X', which was noted as being their most outwardly political song to date. Another single from the record was a cover of 'Pumped Up Kicks' by Foster The People, followed by the album's final single 'ALTÆR' being released in January 2020.
While touring in support of Metawar in 2019, the band recorded one original track and two cover songs for the film Guns Akimbo. Their cover of You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) by Dead or Alive was featured in the film's trailer, and it was later announced that the second cover song would be The Ballroom Blitz originally recorded by The Sweet. In the latter past of the year Nick Rossi joined the live line-up as temporary replacement for Hanson, who had injured his foot. By the following year it was announced that Rossi would be joining the team in a full time capacity and would be recording on their 4th album 'EndEx'.
Throughout 2023 3Teeth would release a new song every month until the album [EndEx] was out. This led to the release of the singles 'Merchant of the Void', 'Slum Planet' - both featuring producer & sound designer Mick Gordan - 'Scorpion', 'Drift' and 'Higher Than Death'. The album was released in the September of that year.
Since their formation 3Teeth have supported and performed alongside many artists' tours, including Rammstein, Ministry, Author & Punisher, Danzig, Pig and Tool.
