According to an article from the April 13, 1968 issue of Record World: The boys admitted they once recorded under the name the Trade Winds, that the new single is their first as the Fairchilds and that, as one 'child put it, 'We just picked the new name out of the blue. We had been on Kama Sutra as the Trade Winds, but when we left we found that legally we didn't own the name. So we just called ourselves the Fairchilds. We didn't want to get hung up for months on a name.'
