John Davenport is an alias used by American pianist, singer and songwriter Otis Blackwell (born February 16, 1931, Brooklyn, New York, USA – died May 6, 2002, Nashville, Tennessee, USA). He used the alias for the writing credits of his first hit song, the Little Willie John performed Fever, which he co-wrote with Eddie Cooley. Credited to his real name he later penned such hits as All Shook Up, Great Balls Of Fire, Don’t Be Cruel and many more.
