Johnny Haygood recorded and released his music on the [l75169] label. At the age of 3, his family had moved to Chicago, where his mother had then married Haygood, upon which Haygood adopted Darrow.
Fletcher charted three times as a singer and twice as a songwriter on the U.S. charts, first with The Pain Gets A Little Deeper. The song, which was co-written by Fletcher and Ted Daniels, hit #89 overall and #23 on the R&B chart. In 1970 I Think I'm Gonna Write A Song hit #47 R&B and in 1976 We've Got To Get An Understanding hit #99. It was also co-written by Fletcher, this time with Joel Webster.
