Starting in 1963, she worked for the Stax record label as a singer, songwriter and later Director of Publicity, Artists and Community Relations. She currently serves as president and CEO of the Soulsville Museum in Memphis and is a member of the boards of the Rock ’n’ Soul Museum, Play It Again Memphis, and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
