Dave began his career as a recording engineer in 1990, working at a recording studio in Boston.
Before he founded JP Masters, he worked since 1994 as a freelancer at numerous recording studios in the Boston area, including Sound Works Studios, Newbury Sound, Wellspring Sound, The Sonic Temple, Squid Hell, Prophet Sound, Rear Window Recording and many others.
