Blackout made a name for himself in 1994, locking down Memphis with his unique sound. He gained notoriety by moving a lot of music in neighborhood and local car stereo stores. These tapes included Lil Slims Robbery's My Specialty, Playa Posse's Bigga And Betta Thangs, Guices Ashes Off My Blunt, Maysroad Kartel and his ever so popular Dreamworld.
While releasing underground projects, Blackout collaborated with cousins Guice and Eli, creating the notorious Snubnoze Muzik label. After they teamed up, this marked the beginning of a flood of releases such as Snubnozes Off Safety, including the hit single Boyz In The Woodz, Terror T.E.R.R.O.R., which included the Memphis anthem Yes, featuring Gangsta Blac. They also released Blackout's Under The Influence and Under The Influence Take 2, Snubnoze's Digital Gravel, Blackout's Mak'Em Pay and a stream of many more releases.
