Erhu player.
Born In Changchun in northeastern China, he was eleven when accepted as a student by the famous Erhu virtuoso, Zhao Guo Liang. After completing a major in Chinese National stringed Instruments at the Jilin Art Institute under professor Gan Bailin, he went to Beijing for Postgraduate work a the China central Conservatory of Music. At the same time he quicly gained national recognition, garnering prizes as both performer and composer, with works being recorded and subsequently broadcast by the China Central Radio Station.
He was sent to India in 1985 as one of seve to represent China in the International Arts Festival of Percussion Instruments. In 1992 the United States government granted him permanent residency based solely on his talent. Two years later his debut with
