In 1972, Michael became director of international operations of GSF Records. He founded the Versatile record label in 1977, Accord (2) in 1980, Town House in 1981 and set up the music publishing company Musical Properties Inc. in 1981 together with Barry Bergman. After the sale of Accord / Town House to Indigo Music Corporation in 1983, he created the Aero (2) and Easy Street Records labels.
