Composer, violinist, violist and conductor.
Stefan Rodesco (or Rodescu) was born in Romania in 1953 and started playing the violin at the age of four. In 1972 he entered the Bucharest Academy of Music, where he won a first prize for violin, as well as several chamber music prizes. At the same time as his studies, he began a career as a soloist and played with the main Romanian orchestras, while giving numerous recitals.
In 1977, he entered the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1984, he has been solo violin at the Orchestre National d'Ile de France.
Stefan Rodesco is also interested in composition, orchestration and new technologies of sound synthesis, as well as musical data processing and digital recording.
