Blues singer, guitarist and songwriter, born March 12, 1949 in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, UK. Recording artist on the Blue Horizon label around 1969. Member of Kevin Coyne's band during the 1970's, with whom he recorded several albums for Virgin. He also recorded two solo albums in 1979-1980, as well as a solo country blues album Out of the Bottleneck issued in 1999. A CD of new material was released in 2008, entitled The Essential Gordon Smith.
