French composer, born 28th August 1903 in Orleans, died 21th March 1986.
He was the son of
Eugène Météhen, who was a composer of music himself. He got a solid musical education at the Conservatoire 'National de Musique de Paris'.
His career began as a conductor in South America and continued in Paris (1929-1939). After World War II he directed in particular at the Casino de Paris (1945-1947) and Mogador (1954-1955). He was also deputy conductor at the Opera-Comique (1962-1964).
He performed the musical direction of most films by Georges Auric, Anatole Litvak (Do you like Brahms?), Jules Dassin (Du Rififi men) and various filmmakers (Marie Antoinette, La Grande Vadrouille, The Gypsy Baron).
