New Zealand-born vocalist, born 28 April 1949 in Wellington. He released his first single in 1972 and pursued a solo career through the 70s.
In 1977 he was involved in forming new-wave act Mi-Sex. The band continued until late 1984 when they disbanded.
Gilpin was involved in a car crash in November 1991 and was in a coma until he died 6 January 1992 in Southport Hospital on Queenland's Gold Coast, Australia.
