In March of 1945, Big Bill Broonzy recorded 4 sides for Hub records out of New York. The session included tenor saxophone legend Don Byas and sidemen consisting of Kenny Watts on piano, John Levy on bass and Slick Jones on drums. The record was released in June of 1946, the year Byas left for Europe where he spent the rest of his days.
This record is often overlooked as it's credited to Little Sam and Orchestra. Big Bill was also known as Little Sam or Sammy Sampson and Hub Records decided to use this pseudonym on the label.
