Pioneering guitar and electronics outfit from Berlin, Germany. Ashra were formerly known as Ash Ra Tempel, but when reduced to the solo project of Manuel Göttsching, their label Virgin insisted on using the shortened name Ashra. Later the project became a proper band again, and has reformed numerous times.
