James (Jim) Allen is a visual artist, Film Art Director / Production Designer for 36 years from Studio City, California (ie Scarface and Encino Man). James Austin with Rock Beat Records conceived the project and created reel #1 & #2 after viewing Jim Allen's sheet music collection. James Allen's concept of Hulaland, designed the book and box set and brought in his old friend and expert on Hawaiian Lap Steel to shape the History of the Artists and create Reel #3 & #4. The collection would never have been produced if not for the knowledge and influence of Robert Armstrong (ie. original member of the Cheep Suite Serenaders and creator of Mickey Rat and Couch Potato Comics), and his connection to the vast licensed collection from Grass Skirt Records (UK).
