John was the driving force behind importers Soul Bowl, who introduced DJ's and fans to 70's Northern Soul sounds. One of the first to make record buying trips to the U.S., he discovered many of the decade's top Northern Soul sounds. “In 1977 he shipped from the USA over a million 45s back to storage locations in the UK run by his wife, Marisa, and their helpers.”
