The year 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the Ensemble Romulo Larrea. Its founder is the Uruguayan bandoneonist Romulo Larrea, described by the press as the one by whom the Tango took root in Quebec. More than 40 years of artistic activity have passed since its beginnings in Montreal with the first Canadian tango group, Tango x 4. The creation of repertoires and their dissemination are the engines of the cultural organization and are made possible thanks to the dynamism and the talent of our artists and designers. The Ensemble's concerts and shows have always been inspired as much by traditional tango as by contemporary tango and integrate the disciplines of dance and song that have rubbed shoulders with tango since its birth.
