American recording and mastering engineer, mostly active in the LA area. Chief engineer and studio manager at Brother Studio, Santa Monica in the early seventies, where he designed (together with Gordon Rudd) a mobile studio for The Beach Boys' sessions in Holland. Beginning in the early sixties he was also active as a lacquer cutting engineer, his work can be identified by the signature SM etched in the runouts.
