Arranged for Benny Goodman's Carnegie Hall concert of January 16, 1938 to be recorded via telephone wire. After a period as A&R for [l144929] from 1944, in 1948 he founded Discovery Records, eventually the [l144929] and [l131141] back catalogs were incorporated. He was married to singers Helen Ward and Harriet Clark, and remained active in the music industry in the 1980s.
