Hedger’s musical career began in the late ’80s at Big Life Records’ Livingston Studios. He began working his way up the ladder to become head engineer at the label’s in-house Little Portland Street recording studios. While working there, he recorded the album Outer Works as
Innersphere with
Lindsay Edwards. Upon hearing the album,
Andrew Weatherall signed them to his label Sabrettes. After five years at the Sabrettes label, Hedger decided to move on and formed
West London Deep, ending up providing remixes for artists including
Alison Limerick,
Apollo 440,
Röyksopp,
Dub Pistols,
Moby,
18 Wheeler, Steve Bicknell, Steve Mason, and
Orbital.
