English songwriter, trumpeter, and producer, born 21 July 1942 in Slough, Berkshire, England - died 16 December 2014. He spent two years as musician in the RAF (Royal Air Force), a year with Roger Sutton's Embers and three years with the The John Barry Seven. He had his own band The Alan Bown Set, aka The Alan Bown! and simply as Alan Bown, for six years, until February 1971 when he gigged around, notably with organist Dave Lawson. He joined Jonesy in February 1972.
