aka Gregory Ironman Tate, born October 15, 1957, died December 7, 2021, was a journalist for New York's weekly Village Voice and many other periodicals, published author, musicologist and musician. Co-founder of Black Rock Coalition. His band Burnt Sugar defied categories, and had a floating and ever-changing line-up of musical collaborators.
