German drummer, 27 February 1954 – 10 June 2022.
Since he was 12 he played the drums, while his uncle played drums for the band Sputniks. He studied to be a carpenter but switched to be a professional musician in 1975, after finishing studying music at the Fachschule Berlin-Friedrichshain. Before joining the band Puhdys, he was a drummer at Vulcan, Knorze, Prinzip and Stern Meißen. In 1979 he succeeded Gunther Wosylus in Puhdys. 1984 to 1986 he was voted the best drummer in the GDR. Furthermore he helped out in 1988/89 as a drummer with Stern Meissen and the Prague group Turbo. He also wrote several songs, most of which he did together with Peter Bimbo Rasym.
