Australian-born sound engineer, record producer and label owner who was instrumental in establishing the Jamaican recording industry. Goodall co-founded Island Records with
Chris Blackwell in 1962, as well as helping to create the [l288955], and [l300120] (formerly Wirl Studio). He launched the [l70456], [l266346], and [l49070] labels, whilst producing such artists as
Desmond Dekker & The Aces (Fu Manchu),
Laurel Aitken, and
Symarip’s ’Skinhead Moonstomp’.
